Three months. One idea. A rapidly developing caregiver‑support ecosystem.

XTD Pigeon began only three months ago, sparked by a single silent moment that made it clear caregivers needed gentler, clearer tools at home. After identifying this gap, I filed a provisional patent in June 2026 and began shaping the concept into a full ecosystem built on nanotextile comfort, equitable optical design, and early‑trend awareness for everyday breathing patterns.

In this short time, Pigeon has entered the FDA Home‑Based Care Challenge, secured patent‑pending status, applied for trademark protection, and begun early conversations with regulatory and engineering advisors. The project is young — but it’s already moving with purpose.

Three months in, and the foundation is set.

XTD Pigeon Ecosystem has made significant early‑stage progress, including launching our Kickstarter campaign, completing SAM.gov registration, reopening our Grants.gov workspace, and advancing our SBIR Phase I application.

We’ve also finished our Attorney review on our trademark filing, and we are currently waiting on the processing to finish, refined our website content for regulatory‑safe communication, and continued developing the ecosystem narrative and reward tiers.

Additionally, preparations are underway for the upcoming BiteLabs Summit in December.

This season has been full of momentum, growth, and foundational milestones as we move toward prototype development and early regulatory engagement.

XTD Pigeon Phase I SBIR Application Submitted

XTD Pigeon has reached another important milestone: our corrected Phase I SBIR application has been successfully submitted and received in eRA Commons.

The proposed Phase I work focuses on evaluating the technical feasibility of the Feather and Perch sensing concepts through prototype development, benchtop testing, clinician review, and caregiver-centered evaluation.

This is not a funding announcement, but it represents another meaningful step in moving XTD Pigeon from lived caregiving experience toward rigorous engineering evaluation.

XTD Pigeon — Precision Over Pace

Development may be slow right now, but it’s not idle. XTD Pigeon isn’t a product that can be rushed; it’s a system that has to be thoughtful at every layer, or it won’t serve the people it’s meant to support.

Feather must handle diverse skin tones accurately — or it falls short. Feather must gather wellness signals consistently — or it falls short. Feather must communicate seamlessly with Nest — or it falls short.

There’s no “almost” in this ecosystem. It either works with clarity and consistency, or it doesn’t move forward.

While hardware design is paused, the groundwork continues. I’m aligning with trusted advisors to ensure the development path is responsible. Early software logic is being prepared so the ecosystem’s brain will be ready when the body catches up. And yes — some days involve tapping my foot at screens that refuse to cooperate. But even that is part of the build.

This phase isn’t about speed. It’s about correctness. And correctness takes time.
