Three months. One idea. A rapidly developing medical device ecosystem.

XTD Pigeon is only three months into development, but the momentum has been immediate. After identifying a critical gap in home respiratory monitoring, I filed a provisional patent in June 2026 and began shaping the concept into a full ecosystem: nanotextile SpO₂ sensing, non‑melanin‑biased optical design, and tcCO₂ trend monitoring for real‑world home use.

In this short time, Pigeon has entered the FDA Home‑Based Care Challenge, has a patent-pending, applied for trademark protection, and begun early regulatory and engineering consultations. The project is young — but it’s already moving with purpose.

Pigeon began with a single silent respiratory desaturation — one moment that made it clear families like ours need better tools. I didn’t set out to invent a medical device; I set out to solve a problem no one else seemed to be solving.

What started as a caregiver’s question has become a focused, structured effort to build safer, smarter home respiratory monitoring. It’s still early, but the momentum is real — driven by lived experience, real need, and a commitment to making home care safer for the people who depend on it most.
